I recorded a 30 minute conversation of my grandmother, my mom, my aunt and myself at my aunts old house. The kids screaming are my siblings and cousins. Everything you hear is from that recording, it's been cut, layered, edited, and warped.
At the time my grandma was experiencing alzheimers and dementia. Her conversations were circular, and she would go in and out of being there and being in the past where she grew up. I was fascinated and sad by what she was going through, although I did enjoy my time with her. I think I made this in 2015? I don't remember.

I love hearing my mom talk with my grandma or any of her sisters - their voices turn into each others, and they weave in and out of their distinctions. My favorite sound is hearing all of them talk in the kitchen through the night as I would fall asleep in a room nearby.

My grandma passed away a few years after this recording, and my aunt a few years after that. This is the only recording of their voices I was able to find.. I wish I had more.
